The Egyptians, Romans and Greeks all used Aromatherapy as part of their daily lives! Herbs and essential oils were used either for their aromatic benefits, medicinal purposes or for flavoring foods. Throughout the ages, and within all cultures, herbs and essential oils have proven their amazing properties time and time again. Derived from numerous botanical sources, the essences obtained can benefit humankind in a myriad of ways. Well Beings utilizes essential oils and herbs to develop products that provide a two-fold benefit. The use of the base product to soften, cleanse, exfoliate, etc. and the addition of herbs and essential oils to calm, relax, invigorate, clarify and balance. Just as colors can affect our mood and general well being, so too does the sense of smell, (which is registered the fastest in the brain), affect us even more powerfully than all our other senses. In addition to the obvious sensory benefits, essential oils have the ability to heal, soothe and treat skin ailments. The Aroma-Pedia is for explaining the general properties of the ingredients used in our products, as well as familiarizing you with various aromatherapy terminology. In addition, as the Aroma-Pedia expands, it will provide interesting facts and folklore surrounding aromatherapy use. Enjoy! And remember, we all have some level of stress factors to deal with. Take time out for you!
