| A fragrant perennial that is used in many aromatherapy products, essential oil of lavender is the most widely used and versatile healing oil. Lavender essential oil is the only oil that can be safely applied undiluted to the skin. Lavender is a very well known relaxant, soother and conditioner, and is also known for it's ability to ease headaches. | |

| Origin: | Originally Persia, Canary Islands, Southern France. Today also in France, England, Yugoslavia, Italy, Spain, Morocco. French lavender is preferred as it is richer in linalyl acetate giving it a sweeter, fruitier note. |
| Description: | Lavender grows to a height of 12 to 20 inches. Brilliant blue blossoms are tubular at the end of the stem. Leaves are blue-green in color. Both the leaves and flowers are fragrant. |

| Perfume Note: | Middle to top. |
| Extraction Method: | Steam distillation. |
| Yield: | 150 to 160 lbs to produce 1 pound of oil. |
